bring-abrego-garcia-back-trumps-claim-and-plan

So, like, I was reading this super interesting article about President Donald Trump’s interview with ABC News for his 100th day in office. Apparently, he talked about how he “could” bring back Kilmar Abrego Garcia, this guy who got deported to El Salvador by mistake. ABC News anchor Terry Moran was all like, “What are you gonna do to make this happen, Mr. President?” And Trump was like, “Well, the lawyer who said it was a mistake wasn’t even from my team, so yeah, not my problem.” He then goes on to claim that Abrego Garcia is part of the MS-13 gang and not some innocent dude from Maryland. But Abrego Garcia’s lawyers are like, “Nah, he’s not MS-13 and hasn’t even been charged with a crime.”

Moran tries to push Trump to use his presidential powers to bring Abrego Garcia back, but Trump’s just like, “He came here illegally, so tough luck.” Moran suggests Trump could just pick up the phone and call the president of El Salvador to sort things out, but Trump is all, “Yeah, I could do that if I wanted to, but I’m not the one calling the shots here.” Moran reminds him that, as the president, he kinda is the one calling the shots. But Trump is like, “Nah, I just gotta follow the law, man. If I wanted to be a loose cannon, I’d keep the guy where he is.”

Trump then takes a swipe at President Biden, blaming him for the whole mess and saying he was elected to fix the “unforced error” made by a “very incompetent man.” It’s like a total showdown between the two presidents, right? Not really sure why this matters, but it’s definitely making headlines. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like there’s more to this story than meets the eye. Anyway, it’s all in the hands of the Supreme Court now, so we’ll have to wait and see how this drama unfolds.

As a new grad journalist, I’m not the best at writing articles, but I gave it my best shot. Hope you enjoyed the read!
