The Alba Berlin basketball players remain on track in the Bundesliga and celebrated their biggest win of the season. On Saturday evening, the capital city team won comfortably at home in front of 10,646 spectators against newly promoted Tigers Tübingen with 112:69 (56:34). This means Alba remains in third place in the table. The best Berlin throwers were Martin Hermannsson and Malte Delow with 17 points each
Coach Israel Gonzalez’s team initially didn’t seem really awake three days after the Euroleague game against Monaco. The relegation candidate took advantage of this by primarily hitting his long-distance throws. The capital city surprisingly trailed 21:24 after the first quarter.
But in the second section, Alba defended more intensively and made it difficult for Tübingen to find any good throwing positions. The Berliners got rolling and were now scoring almost at will. By halftime they were able to extend their lead to 22 points.
And even after the break, the hosts dominated the now one-sided game. Around five minutes before the end the lead grew to 45 points (104:59).
