Ski racer Andreas Sander leads the German speed squad at the season finale in Soldeu. After his second place in Aspen, the first podium of his career in the Alpine World Cup, the Bavarian by choice from Burgberg im Allgäu moved up to fifth place in the Super-G classification.

25 athletes per discipline will take part in the World Cup finals in Andorra starting on March 13th. In addition to Sander, only Romed Baumann (22nd) from the German team qualified for the final round in the more winding of the two speed disciplines.

In the supreme discipline downhill, the German Ski Association sends three athletes to Soldeu. In addition to Baumann (15th) and Sander (22nd), Josef Ferstl (20th) also secured a starting place.

Thomas Dreßen and Simon Jocher, who were plagued by injuries this season, missed out on qualifying for the season finale of the top 25. Dominik Schwaiger isn’t there either.
