After ten intensive years as the actress of Hermione Granger in the “Harry Potter” films, actress Emma Watson (33) has taken it a little easier in recent years. She only made films sporadically, most recently in “Little Women” in 2019, and devoted herself to her political commitment as a UN special envoy for women’s and girls’ rights.

She rarely appeared in public, and last year she also took an extensive break from social media. It was not until her 33rd birthday on April 15 of this year that she spoke up again. Taking to Instagram, Watson shared what she’s been doing during her hiatus: “I put my life behind me — I learned to surf (badly), I rode horses (that worked better), I did a lot of therapy.”

She also started a new project with her brother Alex Watson (30). Together they will launch their own premium gin, which is produced in a particularly sustainable way: “My brother and I found out how to make a gin from recycled grapes!”

In an interview with the Financial Times’ luxury magazine How To Spend It – on the cover of which Watson can be seen with brother Alex – the former “Harry Potter” actress introduced the alcohol project, which is dubbed “Renais”.

She explained that she had been used to dealing with alcoholic beverages since she was a child. “I was quite surprised when other kids got excited about the idea of ??getting hold of alcohol. Ever since I was a kid, my dad used to give me water with wine for lunch, so I was pretty confused when I was a teenager and all regarded alcohol as this forbidden fruit.”

In the meantime, the jointly developed gin by the Watson siblings has already been bottled and will soon be available for purchase. First pictures of it can be seen on Alex Watson’s Instagram page.
