In the evening we were sitting on the balcony of the restaurant “Muriel’s” and had just decided on a Sazerac, the drink from New Orleans, very bourbon-heavy, recommended, when we had doubts. On the way to the balcony we passed an empty table with a glass of red wine on it, refilled every evening for the spirit of the house. Down on the square, people had their hands read, others painted, and there was also a magician.
