The man in his mid-thirties had come to my practice to get another medical opinion. A few days ago he noticed a swelling on his right shoulder that was rapidly increasing in size. Now it was the size of a fist. After he noticed the swelling, he first went to his family doctor and then to the emergency room at the university hospital. There it was recommended that he have the area punctured to see whether a large bruise was the cause. He had refused that.
