Oh, you happy, oh you blessed… We Germans love tradition at Christmas time, and not just when we sing. In addition to potato salad and sausages, duck, goose and raclette are particularly popular on the table on Christmas Eve and on public holidays. They are nice and greasy and preferably generously portioned. The extensive feasting often lasts until late at night and is accompanied by wine and schnapps. The sweet and rich dessert should not be missed either.
