Snowfall only in the mountains

And what about next week? The trend shows that wintry weather and snowfall can only be expected in the mountains, says meteorologist Friedrich. It will be milder at lower altitudes and stormy weather must be expected in the north.

This Friday, however, there should first be longer sunny periods in the north-west and north during the course of the day. Otherwise the sky is often overcast and from the middle to the south light snowfall is to be expected at times and in certain areas. According to the DWD, there can also be sleet or rain in the lowest elevations. The temperatures climb to only 0 to 5 degrees, in the mountains light frost is expected. A weak to moderate wind will blow.

Light snowfall is expected in the Alps and on the northern edge of the Ore Mountains and Thuringian Forest on Saturday night. Otherwise only little snow in the south, in the middle increasingly free of precipitation and north of the low mountain ranges also larger loosening.

According to forecasts, there will still be a little snowfall in the south and south-east on Saturday, which will also decrease in the afternoon in the Alps and in the Ore Mountains. The sun shines at times over the middle and initially the northern parts of the country. In the north, clouds will appear over the course of the day, but it will mostly remain dry. The maximum values ​​are 0 to 4 degrees, in the mountains and south of the Danube it is frosty.

On Sunday the sky in the northern half will be mostly cloudy to overcast with some rain or drizzle. In the southern half there may be greater loosening during the course of the day. In addition, the DWD predicts maximum values ​​between one degree and 6 degrees.
