How cute is that: the little, red-haired little fellow jumps happily across the meadow with a net in his hand and catches colorful butterflies that flutter around him. Another fellow dribbles his way across the lush green lawn with a soccer ball and scores a goal with a merry laugh. The third blows annoying leaves off the sidewalk with a leaf blower in hand. Yes, the world of the Mainzelmännchen is still okay. There is no loss of species, no World Cup boycott and no one to draw attention to the life of the small creatures in the pile of leaves.
