Another innkeeper in Plochingen in Baden-Württemberg was shot at. This time a 34-year-old was injured, according to the State Criminal Police Office and the police. Several shots were fired at the man from a car early on Sunday morning. The investigators are examining possible connections to similar incidents in the southwest from the past few weeks and months.

The 34-year-old owner was alone in the restaurant near the train station at around 5:20 a.m. at the time of the crime, they said. “He was able to leave the hospital where he was treated as an outpatient after the crime after a short time.” The search for the vehicle from which the shot had been fired was initially unsuccessful. The police searched for the perpetrator or perpetrators with a helicopter, among other things. Specialists secured evidence at the crime scene.

It is by far not the first case of this kind in the region in the recent past: In Plochingen itself, an innkeeper was also shot on February 25th. The 66-year-old suffered serious injuries. According to the information at the time, he had left the restaurant with guests at around 3.20 a.m. because the noise of breaking glass could be heard. When the group noticed two masked people in front of a broken barber shop window, they spoke to the suspects. Then one of the two strangers shot and hit the 66-year-old.

Three days later, the LKA and the Reutlingen police headquarters formed a joint investigative team. Incidents with shots from the areas of the praesidia in Ulm and Stuttgart are also examined here, as an LKA spokesman explained on Sunday.

Also at the end of February, a 21-year-old woman was shot at from a moving car in Eislingen/Fils. She was injured in the leg. A short time later, a witness reported a gunshot-like noise in nearby Donzdorf. There was an exchange of gunfire in Ostfildern in mid-February after an argument. In mid-March, strangers shot and injured a 32-year-old in Stuttgart. Also last month, an FDP politician was shot and injured in the community of Hattenhofen. The background was unclear.
