The tourist centers in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania have put together a full program for visitors at Easter. The highlight in Warnemünde at the weekend is the torchlight hike from the Bailiwick at the train station to a big Easter fire on the beach, said Moritz Naumann from the Rostock and Warnemünde tourism center of the German Press Agency. An Easter market has been taking place along the promenade since Wednesday. In addition to various stalls, there are also rides for guests and locals.

Easter holidaymakers and locals can also choose between numerous events in the rest of the north-east, according to tourism officials and the state. For families with children, the Baltic Sea resort of Boltenhagen (Nordwestmecklenburg district) offers a children’s Easter bunny festival with a bouncy castle, face painting, balloons and ceramic painting.

In Waren (Müritz) children can look for hidden surprises in a large Easter nest made of straw. There is also a story program for children in Binz (West Pomerania-Rügen) on the subject of “chicken or egg – what came first?”. The traditional Easter fire mile on the beach with 22 fires, according to the information, should also make eyes light up.

If you hope to see animals not only in chocolate form but also in the wild after your private hunt for Easter nests, you can also take part in Easter hikes with a ranger in the Müritz National Park. For animal fans there is also an Easter festival in the Güstrower Wildpark-MV and a special anniversary in the Baltic Sea resort of Wustrow (West Pomerania-Rügen). The Fischländer beach gallop race is planned there for the 20th time on Saturday, with riders competing against the backdrop of the Baltic Sea.

Those interested in culture can visit the Slavic village again in Neustrelitz from Saturday. Guests can immerse themselves in Slavic history during various activities – for example at an authentic fashion show from 1100. On the island of Poel (Northwest Mecklenburg) there is also a spring concert with swing classics in the church in addition to church services.
