In Greding, Bavaria, dozens of participants in an AfD state party conference are said to have chanted xenophobic slogans in a discotheque over the weekend. The police had “indications that the people were participants in the event,” the officials said on Tuesday in Nuremberg. “These are currently being examined,” it continued.
The investigators spoke of a “larger group of people” of around 30 people who chanted xenophobic slogans to a song on Sunday night. The operator of the discotheque then influenced the group “so that they stopped what they were doing”. The police were not called in that night.
Witnesses reported the incident on Sunday and criminal proceedings were initiated against unknown persons. The state security agency took over the investigation into the initial suspicion of inciting statements. The officers asked for information from witnesses as well as images and video material. On Saturday and Sunday, the Bavarian AfD met in Greding for a state party conference.
