Hundreds of freight forwarders and farmers took part in a protest in Berlin after a rally. Police reported around 350 trucks, around 50 tractors and around 90 other vehicles on the 17th of June road. Around 350 people gathered at the Brandenburg Gate in the afternoon. The number varies, however, because the vigil is also supposed to last through the night. On banners they called, among other things, for the increase in the truck toll and the CO2 tax to be withdrawn. According to the police, there were no major traffic disruptions in Berlin because of the rally.
The Federal Logistics Association
A rally is planned for Friday at the Brandenburg Gate, to which Bavaria’s Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU) is also expected. He expressed solidarity with the logistics industry. “The current federal government is constantly burdening it with new measures such as the CO2 toll,” he said. This could also be expensive for consumers at the supermarket checkouts.
Farmers and trucking companies had blocked several entrances to the A15 motorway in Brandenburg in the morning. Except for the Bademeusel access, all access routes between the Polish border and the Spreewald triangle were blocked, the police said.
