In Hesse, the police have been taking part in the so-called speed camera marathon since Friday morning. As part of a Europe-wide day of action, the speed of drivers will be measured throughout the state from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., the police said. More than 500 officers are to be deployed at around 200 measuring points. A spokesman for the central Hesse police headquarters said in the morning that checks would be carried out in particular at typical accident sites as well as schools or kindergartens.
