People in Germany have to be prepared for rain and thunderstorms before the situation improves at the weekend. So on Friday the low Vasco comes to us from the British Isles and brings some longer-lasting rain – locally with thunderstorms and heavy rain, as the German weather service announced on Thursday in Offenbach.
On Saturday, the low will move on to Poland. Behind it, higher air pressure will spread over the weekend, so that the weather will calm down again.
“So the weekend offers a good opportunity for excursions of all kinds, especially since Monday as a May holiday extends the weekend,” said DWD meteorologist Jacqueline Kernn. “However, humid air then flows into the country from the south, which can lead to showery rainfall, especially in the south and west.”
The forecasts in detail
On Friday the sky will be overcast, with showery rain spreading eastwards. “Over the center, the rain will increasingly turn into showers and thunderstorms from Friday afternoon. These can be locally stronger and accompanied by heavy rain and stormy gusts. Small hail is also possible,” said Kernn. In East Western Pomerania it is still partly clear and mostly dry until the evening. The maximum values ??in the North Sea area hardly reach 10 degrees, in the west and south-west, on the other hand, around 19 degrees are possible locally.
On Saturday, individual showers are most likely to fall in the east and in the mountains, otherwise the day will be mostly dry. Especially in the area of ??the Baltic Sea and in the southwest, there can also be longer sunny periods. Maximum values ????reach 11 to 15 degrees in the north – although it stays a little cooler directly on the coasts. Spring-like 21 degrees are possible on the Upper and High Rhine. In addition, a mostly weak to moderate wind blows from west to north-west.
On Sunday it will be sunny for longer, especially in the north-east. Otherwise, in addition to sunny sections, there will also be loose cloud fields. According to the DWD, there may be individual showers and thunderstorms from southern Baden to the Alps in the evening. Temperatures reach 14 degrees in the coastal inland and up to 20 degrees in the south.
