A stink bomb was discovered in Hamburg during the appearance of Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) at the OMR digital festival. The foul smell spread throughout the great hall within minutes. A medical service checked the stink bomb and classified it as harmless to health, said an OMR spokeswoman in Hamburg. Around 7,000 people can fit in the hall.
The hall was then ventilated immediately and the fire brigade did not have to be called. It wasn’t butyric acid. A perpetrator has not yet been identified, said the spokeswoman. The organizers initially did not have any further information. Around 67,000 people flocked to the digital trade fair on Tuesday and Wednesday.
