The driver of a bus died after a collision with a van near Ludwigsburg. As a police spokesman announced on Wednesday morning, the two vehicles collided late on Tuesday evening in the intersection area of the Ludwigsburg-Süd junction to Autobahn 81.
The bus then veered off the road to the right, damaged the guardrail and ended up lying in the ditch. The driver suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the van and his passenger were seriously injured. According to the spokesman, there were no passengers on the bus. The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
In the accident, the traffic lights at the busy intersection were also damaged and failed, the spokesman said. In the morning, the road and highway maintenance department took care of setting up signs and makeshift traffic lights.
