At least nine children showed signs of poisoning in a school in Ahrensfelde in Brandenburg on Wednesday morning. This was announced by the rescue control center in Eberswalde. Accordingly, these are said to be children in a class in whom the signs of poisoning appeared at the same time.
According to the fire department, there should be 25 children in the class. According to initial information, nine of them showed nausea and vomiting as well as headaches as symptoms. The number of nine children suspected of being poisoned could still increase, the spokesman said.
The reason for the signs of poisoning has not yet been conclusively clarified; preliminary information suggests that a gas leak could be the cause. The affected children’s classroom was evacuated. Around 20 emergency vehicles were on site on Wednesday morning.
