A previously unknown perpetrator stole the car of a non-profit organization and later set it on fire. The fire in the car was reported to the fire department shortly before midnight on Thursday, the police said. It was possible to reconstruct that the car was no longer drivable after an accident in a curve. The perpetrator got hold of the key by breaking into the club’s business premises in Landstuhl. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver stayed by the car for some time after the accident, set up a warning triangle and made a phone call. The police are now hoping for witnesses to be able to clarify the case.
