It is the second time that a professor has had to face a court for his climate protest. Nikolaus Froitzheim is actually a professor of geology at the University of Bonn. In 2019 he joined the Fridays for Future movement, committing trespassing for the first time because he did not think the federal government’s climate package was sufficient. He is now committed to the Scientist Rebellion group for more climate protection and the livelihood of his children and grandchildren, as he revealed to the star in January. Last year in April he blocked the Kronprinzenbrücke in Berlin. The Tiergarten district court accuses him of attempted coercion and resistance to the enforcement officers.
