Several people have died in severe forest fires in Chile. Initially there was talk of ten missing people. According to reports, thousands of hectares of forest and dozens of houses in the center of the country have been destroyed by the flames. President Gabriel Boric announced on Saturday night on the short message service X, formerly Twitter, that he had declared a state of emergency in the affected areas due to the disaster in order to be able to mobilize all the necessary resources.
