The light is sometimes stubborn in the warehouse in Rotterdam, but slowly it is getting bright between the ten meter high shelves. The neon lights flicker a few times, then illuminate the seemingly endless hallways. “We are standing here between solar technology for millions,” says Zbyněk Doucha, who manages the warehouse of the Bavarian wholesaler BayWa. The boxes with the logos of the major Chinese solar manufacturers are stacked up just below the hall ceiling: Trina, JA Solar, Jinko. More than 90 percent of the goods come from China, and from here they go every day to the last corners of the EU. Business, we learn, is booming like it hasn’t been in a long time.
