A plane carrying British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps temporarily experienced a GPS signal disruption near the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad. The safety of the plane was not at risk, the government told the British news agency PA in London’s Downing Street on Thursday. According to the Times newspaper, the disruption on the flight between Poland and Great Britain lasted about 30 minutes on Wednesday. The aircraft used alternative methods to determine its location.

Such disruptions in the region’s airspace are not unusual, the PA news agency and the BBC broadcaster reported, citing security circles. According to the Times, it is not clear whether Russia specifically targeted the plane.
