The Grizzlys Wolfsburg lost the first playoff quarter-final in the German Ice Hockey League. The Lower Saxony team lost 3:6 (0:2, 2:3, 1:1) against champions EHC Red Bull Munich on Saturday and are behind 0:1 after the first of seven possible games. Game two takes place on Tuesday (7.30 p.m./Magentasport) in Munich.

After Munich made it 2-0 through Patrick Hager (9th minute) and Chris DeSousa (12th), things got strange in the second third. First, Wolfsburg equalized within two and a half minutes through Chris Wilkie (27th) and Luis Schinko (30th). Then Munich promptly countered with DeSousa (30th), Nicolas Krämmer (31st) and Trevor Parkes (37th). After Wolfsburg’s Ryan O’Connor made it 3:5 (51′), Konrad Abeltshauser made the final score 3:6.
