Bayern Munich’s young star Aleksandar Pavlovic will be out of the German national soccer team’s next two international matches.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who was called up to the DFB squad for the first time by national coach Julian Nagelsmann, suffers from tonsillitis and therefore had to play in the friendly games on Saturday (9 p.m./ZDF) in Lyon against France and three days later against the Netherlands cancel in Frankfurt. As of now, Nagelsmann has no plans to re-nominate.

On Tuesday, all 25 other professionals were available to the national coach during team training on the DFB campus in Frankfurt/Main, including the five other possible debutants. Like Pavlovic, Nagelsmann nominated Jan-Niklas Beste from 1. FC Heidenheim, Maximilian Beier from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and the three Stuttgart players Waldemar Anton, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Deniz Undav for the first time.

The Bayern player had already postponed his arrival, which was originally planned for Monday, because of the infection. On Saturday, the young star suffered a massive swelling over his left eye in a collision during Munich’s 5-2 win at Darmstadt 98. Ultimately, this injury was not the reason for the cancellation.
