The volleyball players from SSC Palmberg Schwerin are only missing one win to reach the final of the German championship. On Wednesday, head coach Felix Koslowski’s team won the first duel with SC Potsdam in the playoff semi-finals in the “best of three” format with 3:1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:23, 25:18) and can make it clear with another success in Potsdam on Saturday.

From the start, the spectators saw a varied game with ups and downs for both teams. Schwerin twice reduced a clear deficit to just one point in the first round, but in the end they were unable to reward themselves for the two comebacks. The Mecklenburgers finally clearly secured the second set after a few lead changes.

The third section seemed to be decided early on. Potsdam was already leading 12:6, but Schwerin managed to equalize with a 6:0 run. In the hard-fought final phase, the SSC held its nerve despite being 21:23 behind and took the 2-1 lead with four points in a row. After that, the guests’ resistance was broken. The Koslowski team dominated the fourth set and made everything clear with the second of seven match points.
