Federal police found 140,000 untaxed cigarettes in a car in Küstrin-Kietz on the Polish border early on Thursday morning. The officers checked the car of a 23-year-old at the border, as the Berlin Federal Police announced on Thursday. In front of the passenger seat, in the back seat and in the trunk, the police reportedly found 700 cartons of untaxed cigarettes. Customs are now investigating the 23-year-old for violating the tax code.
