Even those who are not inclined to empathy have to feel for them – the eight passengers who missed their cruise ship “Norwegian Dawn” in the African island state of São Tomé and Príncipe on March 27 because they returned too late from an excursion. Among those stranded: senior citizens, a pregnant woman, a heart patient, a paraplegic person in a wheelchair. And one wonders why the shipping company Norwegian Cruise Line simply left these people behind who were carrying little more than their clothes? Most of them without money, some without their medication, but with even more fears.
