Trump dismissed the new allegations as a “desperate” attempt by US President Joe Biden’s family and the Justice Department to “harass” him and those around him. Special Counsel Jack Smith knew they had nothing against him, explained the favorite for the Republican presidential nomination.

The new indictment alleges that Trump, Nauta and employee Carlos de Oliveira asked another worker to have security cameras on his property deleted to keep them out of the hands of the judiciary.

Trump was initially accused of 37 counts in the document affair in June by the US federal judiciary. The right-wing populist has been accused of illegally storing hundreds of documents, for example by the Pentagon, the FBI federal police and the NSA secret service, in his private estate Mar-a-Lago in the state of Florida.
