After the latest records, the Dax started on Tuesday just below the closing price of the previous day. In the first few minutes, the leading German index fell by 0.10 percent to 16,431 points, while the MDax for medium-sized companies lost 0.24 percent to 28,769 points. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 fell by 0.09 percent to 4467 points.

On Monday, the Dax had reached a record high for the second trading day in a row and closed the month of July with a gain of around 1.9 percent. The chance of an end to interest rate hikes by the central banks in the USA and the euro zone is fueling the boom in the stock market.

The company’s reporting season remains in focus. On Tuesday, the Dax companies Covestro, DHL Group and Daimler Truck, among others, presented their quarterly figures, with the latter having already published key data in advance.
