Engagespot, a startup based in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has achieved a significant milestone by being accepted into the prestigious Techstars New York City Accelerator Program. This makes Engagespot the first company from Kerala to join this program, which offers a rigorous 15-week acceleration program in New York City.

Techstars is a global leader in startup acceleration, with a strong track record of success, having helped over 4,000 companies, including 150 unicorns. Engagespot was chosen as one of only 12 businesses worldwide to participate in this program, primarily due to its innovative contributions to the developer tools industry.

According to Shiv Shankar, the Cofounder and CEO of Engagespot, the Techstars Accelerator Program was transformative for the company. In just 15 weeks, they were able to grow their revenue fivefold, achieve operational profitability, and increase their monthly growth rate to 25%. The company’s main focus is on streamlining business communication by centralizing notifications across various platforms such as Slack, email, push, and SMS. Their AI-based technology optimizes delivery channels and timing, resulting in increased user engagement and reduced communication costs by up to 50%.

Since its inception 11 months ago, Engagespot has attracted over 2,000 developers and secured $100,000 yearly contracts with companies like Veho, Sameday, and Nivoda. Cofounder and CTO Anand Sukumaran highlighted the value of testing their product with leaders from unicorn companies, which allowed them to iterate rapidly and build a strong network that will benefit the company in the long term.

With plans to hire 20 engineers in the upcoming year and expand their North American footprint, Engagespot is not only focused on enhancing its own operations but also putting Kerala’s startup scene on the global map. This achievement signifies a growing recognition of the potential and innovation coming out of Kerala’s tech ecosystem.
