As a member of parliament’s tasks are many – sometimes too many. It was in the case of the Danish people’s Party-politician Alex Ahrendtsen, who in the beginning of december, selected to sygemelde themselves.
“I think it is a wise decision. You can end up going completely down with the flag,” says Pernille Bendixen, who has taken over his place until the 15. January.
She was a member of the Danish Parliament before the elections in year, but had to take the consequences of the Danish people’s party, big stemmetab. She was not one of the two mandates, which ended up on the island of Fyn.
But now she is so back for a while.
“It’s always really exciting to be at the Palace, but it is also sad. It is always hard to get into because someone has it bad,” she says.
She is happy that Alex Ahrendtsen chose to listen to himself and has taken a break.
“It can be difficult to put your everyday life in the system. It is not an eight to four job. We work weekends, evenings, holidays, etc. To burn the for it, so it’s really hard to say no. It is a privileged job,” she says.
Pernille Bendixen has replaced Alex Ahrendtsen ago the 3. december, where she has had three of the 52-year-old politician’s rapporteurships: Kulturordfører, idrætsordfører and rapporteur for the entire media sector.

“He phoned to hear if I had the chance to step in,” she says and continues:
“He said that he was ill with stress and was in need of calm.”
