Customs officials caught two men with around 25 kilograms of cocaine near Weil am Rhein in the Lörrach district. As the Lörrach main customs office announced on Friday, the two 30-year-old men wanted to enter Switzerland with the drugs in their car at the beginning of August. According to a spokeswoman, the drugs are said to be worth several hundred thousand euros.

According to customs, the men initially stated during a check at the Weil am Rhein border crossing that they wanted to take a two-day vacation in Zurich. However, the officers found a package containing cocaine wrapped in black tape in the trunk of the car. A drug detection dog then discovered drugs in the engine compartment, in the center console and in the side walls. The officers arrested the men. Criminal proceedings were initiated against them.
