Turkey, Scotland and Spain have qualified early for the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany.
The Spaniards won 1-0 (0-0) in Norway and thus secured their European Championship ticket. The Scots benefited from the Spaniards’ success because they can no longer be pushed out of one of the top two places in Group A. In the second game after Stefan Kuntz’s leave of absence, Turkey made it clear that they would take part in the European Championship with a 4-0 (0-0) win against Latvia. Third place in the World Cup, Croatia, has to worry about its European Championship ticket after the 1:2 (0:0) draw in Wales.
Gavi (49th minute) scored the decisive goal for the Spaniards in Oslo, who hardly allowed Norway’s superstar Erling Haaland to develop. Overall, the hosts hardly had any offensive actions.
Montella celebrates second win in second game
Completely different from the Turks, who ultimately celebrated a confident success against Latvia. Yunus Akgun (58th), Cenk Tosun (83rd/90th 2) and Kerem Akturkoglu (87th) made the European Championship ticket perfect with their goals. For Kuntz’s successor Vincenzo Montella it was the second win in the second game.
The Croatians, on the other hand, had nothing to celebrate after the surprising defeat in Wales. Harry Wilson (47th/60th) scored both goals for the hosts. Mario Pasalic (75th) only managed to score the next goal for the Croatians, who fell back to third place in Group D.
