The Chairman of the Board, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has called a meeting for next Wednesday with the members of the Siro works councils and the mayors of the three municipalities that have the company’s production plants: Aguilar de Campoo and Venta de Bathrooms, in Palencia and Toro, in Zamora. The priority objective of these meetings is to explore formulas to save the jobs of the biscuit maker in the Community.
The call for this meeting has taken place throughout the morning of this Saturday and will make visible the personal involvement of the head of the regional Executive in the search for a solution to the conflict by trying to save the jobs of the staff, after the management de Siro announced yesterday to its workers the stoppage of the production of all its plants in Castilla y León when the investment partners, one North American and the other Turkish, withdrew, who had offered to inject 180 million euros and assume 75 percent of the shareholding, reports Ical.
The Venta de Baños works council had already announced that it would try to meet with the president of the Junta to find a solution and, in public statements, the opposition groups had asked for greater involvement of the Junta de Castilla y León and, in Specifically, from the President of the Executive, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, who on Tuesday will have to respond in this regard in Parliament to a question from the Socialist spokesman, Luis Tudanca.
