The Council of Ministers has approved this Tuesday, at the proposal of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, the distribution of 6,901,780 euros to Castilla-La Mancha for the fight against school dropout, within the framework of the educational support program PROA, which It has an investment of 120 million euros for all the autonomous communities in 2022.
These funds, from Component 21 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, will allow students to reach 186 centers supported by public funds in Castilla-La Mancha, as reported by the Government Delegation in the region in a press release.
The Territorial Cooperation Program for Educational Orientation, Advancement and Enrichment in Centers of Special Educational Complexity (PROA program) is aimed at centers supported by public funds, which have a significant number of students with educational difficulties.
Its objective is to improve the quality and equity of the education system and prevent school dropout.
The execution period of the program approved this Tuesday will be from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023. The distribution criteria include the educational level of the population aged 25-64, the suitability rate at 15 years , the dispersion of the population and insularity, as well as the number of students in the different non-university educational stages.
In total, the PROA program has a budget of 360 million euros for the 2021-2024 period, of which 320 million come from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and the remaining 40 million from the General State Budget.
