Biden had come to the fast food restaurant with California Rep. Karen Bass and Los Angeles County Councilman Hilda Solis. At first, the cashier had tried to show a favor to Biden. The president receives a 50 percent discount for his public service and therefore only has to pay $16.45, the cashier said. Biden gave him $60 instead.
