A 66-year-old driver suffered life-threatening injuries when two cars collided near Stolberg in the Harz Mountains. Two other occupants of the vehicles suffered minor injuries in the accident on Friday afternoon, a police spokesman said in the evening. According to him, one of the cars skidded in a right-hand bend between Breitenstein (Mansfeld-Südharz district) and Stolberg and collided with the other car in oncoming traffic. The police suspect that the car got into the oncoming lane because of the “road conditions”.
